Solitaire was the facility for recording the soundtrack for an Australian production ” Rhythms Of Ireland “. The music and taps for the Irish Dance show were recorded and mixed and the live show master was produced at Solitaire from Feb to May 2009. Alan is currently mixing the album of the shows soundtrack in January 2010.

Alan recently mixed a new album for Emmanuel Lawlor and the RTE National Concert Orchestra. The final 3 songs will be finished in early Feb 2010 and the album will be mastered at Solitaire for release soon after.

In August 2008, Alan spent 5 weeks recording, editing, mixing and preparing a soundtrack for the multi million pound Sterling production of “On Eagles Wing” The show went on to play Belfast Opera House, The Helix and The Millenium Forum in Derry During September and October. The show will tour The Netherlands from March to May 2010. Alan will be preparing a new show master in early Feb specifically for this tour.

During July 2009, Solitaire is had a major equipment upgrade. Lynx Aurora AD/DA converters were installed to handle all audio conversions into the new Mac Pro containing 4 x 2.8dual core procesors with 10GB of Ram. All recording will now go straight from the mics through our high quality mic preamps into the Lynx converters and straight into the Mac running a choice of Digital performer or Protools 8. This will insure the best 24 bit 192khz audio sampling available today. The O2R consoles have been retired although one will still be available for ease of connection to clients older equipment for transfers etc and for monitoring purposes. The lynx converters were recomended as the best, in a comparison test carried out by the famous Abbey Road recording studios incorporating several well known brands.

A full Protools 8 HD2 rig with masses of plugins, has now been added to our equipment spec. Connected via a 96i/o, 192 digi i/o or the lynx converters.

A selection of new mics have been purchased.. 2 x Neumann U87, 1 Neumann TLM 103 and 2 AKG 414 are now available to compliment our existing mic collection..
