Today we did some drum tack recordings with the wonderful Kieran Leonard from Celtic Woman. Both Kieran and myself have wanted to do a drum mic shootout for some time so we finally got around to it.
Using a selection of our favourite pics we recorded multiple Kick, snare, Hats and Toms.
All mics were run thru the TLA PA5001 Ivory Valve mic Preamps to achieve the same level from each and straight into the Lynx Aurora converters and recorded. We didn’t do any other processing as we wanted to compare the flat sound from the microphones.
It was great to get the chance to compare all the pics simultaneously and a video of the shootout will be uploaded to our youtube channel in the coming days.
